Avantis Education Ltd, creator of mobile learning devices for schools, has been presented with a prestigious Bett Award for the second year running. This year the award was presented in the ‘Digital Devices’ category for its Tectus wireless charging and storage unit. Coinciding with Bett, the world’s leading event for learning technology, the awards are considered the highest accolade in the industry.
The Bett Awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding excellence in education trade. The winning organisations were announced at the Bett Awards dinner in London on Wednesday 20 January. The judges summarised their view of the Tectus by saying:
“If you are looking to store a class set of tablets, this is the way to do it!”
They felt that the wireless tablet charging system is very distinctive, innovative and easy to use, and that it enables effective learning and teaching while demonstrating environmental sustainability. Caroline Wright, director general designate of BESA added: “The UK leads the world in terms of our technology based learning resources. Ten of thousands of educators visit Bett each year to see what the UK can offer the world in educational ICT. The Bett Awards are a robust, criteria-led way to promote the best technological solutions that really work in classrooms. The Bett Awards are now the standard by which the UK and international education industry can recognise and reward valuable and innovative resources.”
Debbie French, portfolio director at i2i Events Group summarised; “The Bett Awards bring together developers, distributors and educational practitioners each year to recognise, reward and celebrate ICT excellence in the education sector. Becoming a Bett winner is something that companies strive to achieve. The 2015 Awards mark the 17th year of celebrating and acknowledging the world’s leading developments of ICT within education. We applaud Avantis Education for the excellence it provides.”
Nik Tuson, Managing Director at Avantis said:
“We’ve received phenomenal feedback from our schools about ClassCharge products this past year and so to be recognized by the judges and win this prestigious award for the second year running is the icing on the cake.”
