LearnPad’s popularity in UK schools hasn’t gone unnoticed by the wider education community and the solution has gained significant international success over the past 12 months with schools implementations in the Middle East through to North America. LearnPad’s are now in use in thousands of schools worldwide, with over 10,000 teachers actively using the classroom management portal and 500,000 students having access to LearnPad devices.
To add to this international success, LearnPad’s 7.85″ Octavo, has been announced as a winner in Tech & Learning’s ISTE 2014 Best of Show Awards, which took place from June 28-30 in Atlanta Georgia, USA. The Octavo is the latest tablet in the LearnPad family of devices to be offered in the United States.
Throughout the first day of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) annual conference, Tech & Learning advisors visited all the stands at the show, reviewing each vendor’s products and rating them against specific criteria including their impact on learning.
Jared Stearns of Tech & Learning said, “The choice was extremely challenging for our judges. We asked them to look at quality and effectiveness, ease of use, suitability for use in a school environment and creative use of technology. Each product was rated on a five-point scale in the aforementioned areas, along with an overall rating of poor, fair, good, very good and excellent. Every product received an overall rating of good, very good or excellent.”
Ken Leonard, chairman and CEO of LearnPad Group said, “We know from our rapid business growth that our tablet solution is ideal for successful classroom use, but it was especially heartening to win such an award from the Tech & Learning team. As they review and see so many learning technologies everyday, we respect their opinion and vision of learning technology excellence.”
