LearnPad, has been announced as a finalist in the EducationInvestor Awards 2014, for the ‘Suppliers – Use of Educational Technology’ category.
The annual EducationInvestor Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievement and innovation found within the business of learning. Now used by more than 8,000 teachers across the UK and America, LearnPad impressed the panel of judges looking for organisations and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the sector during the academic year 2013-14.
LearnPad offers a classroom tablet solution that enhances, supports and simplifies teaching and learning. Implementing LearnPad gives teachers an intuitive way to supervise and control student tablets, lessons and activities, easily enabling differentiated learning and access to digital content. LearnPad supports the shift in teaching from whole class to personalised learning, enabling the delivery of new and existing materials at the right pace and level for each child’s needs.
Following the highly competitive shortlist process, which saw 20 per cent more entries for 2014, the finalists will now be considered by an independent judging panel, who will select a winner. The winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, on Thursday 13 November.
Nik Tuson, managing director, LearnPad said: “Being shortlisted in the EducationInvestor Awards for 2014 is a fantastic achievement for all the team at LearnPad. We recognise that ‘shoe-horning’ a tablet solution into schools doesn’t work: providing educators with a resource that from the very beginning has been designed with their requirements in mind means that they can take advantage of the teaching and learning benefits that tablets offer, but also be sure that they are making the wisest investments to support future development. As a finalist, we are proud that our innovation in the field of learning technology has been recognised. We look forward to the award ceremony and hopefully, collecting the winning trophy!”
