The champagne was flowing on Friday night when our ‘Tectus’, Wireless Charging and Storage Unit won the best Primary resource involving ICT at the Education Resources Awards.

The Education Resources Awards honour the quality and diversity of educational products and resources, educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the industry. In their seventeenth successful year, the awards are organised by BESA, the trade association representing educational suppliers in the UK sector, and Brilliant Marketing.

The judges, an independent panel of experienced educational professionals, most of whom are classroom teachers, felt that the Tectus is a truly innovative product. They particularly liked the magnetic charging aspect of the product, the easy access and the wireless product for charging. They said, “this product is accessible from early years through to Year 4, where learners can independently access, store and use at any point during the school day.

Nik Tuson, Managing Director at LearnPad commented “We’re very pleased that our Tectus Wireless Charging Unit has been recognised by the Education Resources Awards panel. We’re always searching for simple, effective and innovative solutions to classroom problems and Tectus is testament to that. We’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response since its launch in January and it’s great to be able to say that we’re the first to bring this ground-breaking technology to schools in the UK.”

Caroline Wright, director at BESA, comments: “What makes these awards different is that they focus on the resources, services and people that really make an impact on learning and the day-to-day work of the teachers in the classroom. The UK education sector is currently in the unprecedented position of offering ever improving standards of excellence. Thousands of educators from across the world visit the UK each year to review and buy products from our suppliers because of the quality offered. We would like to congratulate LearnPad for the quality and success of its Tectus resource.”
